Bio of Mr. Dan Bladen

Dan is the Co-Founder and CEO of Chargifi and serves on the leadership team for the Airfuel Alliance. He is passionate about using technology to solve everyday problems; creating efficient systems that do the hard work – instead of us.

Dan grew up selling lawnmowers for his father’s garden machinery company, playing with network components and building computers to sell to friends.

Since then, Dan has been involved variously in the arenas of technology, music, management and sales. Prior to Chargifi he oversaw a team of 50 and designed and implimented network and AV infrastructure for a £6.5 million building project in West London.

Dan is quick to spot and embrace innovation and is an early adopter of anything to do with the Internet of Things.

Bio of Dr. Kazuhito Ishida

Kazuhito Ishida joined QUALCOMM in 2001, and Currently, he is a Director, Technical Standards at QUALCOMM. Since then, he has been engaging in Japanese and international broadband wireless communication technology standardizations and new rule making processes.

In 2009, he began study on spectrum availability for Wireless Power Transmission / Transfer (WPT) technologies. In 2011, he joined the Broadband Wireless Forum (BWF) WPT-WG where he contributed to foundation of the Standard Development Group (SDG). He has been taking the chairmanship of the SDG until today.

He also participated in WPT related working / study groups of Japan MIC regarding suitable frequency ranges, emission limit, and RF exposure assessment.

He contributed to drafting domestic technical standards relating to WPT and also their approvals at ARIB. In addition, in technology studies on WPT in APT AWG meetings and ITU-R SG1 meetings, he wrote many contributions reflecting Japan’s research results and opinions. Furthermore, he worked as Editor to harmonize opinions among administrations involved, and took key leaderships in creation of draft Recommendation and Report.

He received "ITU-Association Japan Awards - Encouragement Award: ICT Field" in 2016 for contributions in the field of WPT.

Bio of Dr. Jie Shu

Jie joined in Qualcomm Halo China in 2016. He is focused on technical business development with OEMs and Tier 1 prospects in China and helps technology transfer to build business network in the electric vehicle ecosystem.

Jie worked for dSPACE China from 2012 to 2016, as an engineer and business development manager, solving technical problems in the areas of rapid prototyping, control and hardware-in-the-loop(HIL) simulation for automotive ECU development and test. More recently, Jie has focused on new energy vehicles such as PHEV/HEV/EV, with his role being technical business development, involving marketing, presales, networking and technical proposal development.

Jie completed his Doctoral studies in 2010 at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, obtaining his PhD degree on energy recovery systems for hybrid vehicles. Jie has published a number of papers in peer-reviewed journals and holds a patent in a novel torque transmission device.

As a researcher in the National Engineering Laboratory for Automotive Electronic Control Technology, Jie worked on projects sponsored by National Development and Reform Committee, Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, including new energy vehicle projects of U.S.-China Clean Energy Research Centre.

Bio of Chang-Ping Lin

Deputy Director General of Central Research Institute, TATUNG CO.

Mr. Lin has 33 years working experience in digital electronics & communications, and smart grid business for Tatung Co. He had joined and established the Smart Grid BU in the company since 2009, to develop the business and technologies in smart grid industry. Mr. Lin had led the BU to establish the HV AMI system and the 1st phase residential AMI project for TPC, performed several field trials in Southeast Asia, as well as smart meter business with Japan, Thailand, etc. Besides AMI systems, he also led the BU to participate many research projects NEP-II (National Energy Project, Phase II) in Taiwan. He moved to Central Research Institute of Tatung Co. in 2015 to lead the Institute in developing core technologies for the company.

Mr. Lin earns his BS degree of Electric Engineering and MS degree of Communication Engineering both from Tatung University. His technical interests include signal processing for communications and control, algorithm development, and AMI/ADAS, as well as micro-grid related technologies, strategies and business development. He is also the Vice Chairman of Taiwan Smart Grid Industry Association (TSGIA), the Chair of TC3 in TAICS, as well as the member of EE and ICT TC for national standards in BSMI (Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection).
