Kazuhito Ishida joined QUALCOMM
in 2001, and Currently, he is a Director, Technical Standards at QUALCOMM. Since
then, he has been engaging in Japanese and international broadband wireless
communication technology standardizations and new rule making processes.
In 2009, he began study
on spectrum availability for Wireless Power Transmission / Transfer (WPT) technologies.
In 2011, he joined the Broadband Wireless Forum (BWF) WPT-WG where he contributed
to foundation of the Standard Development Group (SDG). He has been taking the
chairmanship of the SDG until today.
He also participated in
WPT related working / study groups of Japan MIC regarding suitable frequency
ranges, emission limit, and RF exposure assessment.
He contributed to drafting
domestic technical standards relating to WPT and also their approvals at
ARIB. In addition, in technology studies on WPT in APT AWG meetings and ITU-R
SG1 meetings, he wrote many contributions reflecting Japan’s research results
and opinions. Furthermore, he worked as Editor to harmonize opinions among administrations
involved, and took key leaderships in creation of draft Recommendation and Report.
He received "ITU-Association
Japan Awards - Encouragement Award: ICT Field" in 2016 for contributions
in the field of WPT.
