5G時代來臨,本次 TAICS 的5G分享會主題為B5G/6G Ecosystem Trend,主辦單位邀請到Apple 公司代表Wei Zeng、Mona Mustapha向大家介紹其對於Beyond 5G以及6G的最新技術觀點。本次活動將以[線上會議]方式為主,歡迎大家踴躍報名參加。

  Wei Zeng


Wei has been working in the wireless industry for almost 15 years. He started regularly attending 3GPP RAN1 meetings since Release 14, and has worked on various topics including NR waveform design, multiple access, LTE-NR coexistence, control channel design, MR-DC/CA enhancements, UE power saving, etc. He also served as feature lead for single-Tx enhancements in Release 16 MR-DC/CA enhancement.

Wei joined Apple’s wireless standards team in 2017, where he is currently managing Apple’s RAN1 activities as Apple’s RAN1 standards lead. Before joining Apple, Wei has worked in Qualcomm on multiple areas in system design, from standards research and prototyping, to commercial modem development.

Wei receives his PhD degree in Engineering and Applied Sciences from Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, in 2006.


 Mona Mustapha


Mona has 20 years of experience in the field of mobile communications, covering standardisation, technology deployment, solution design, as well as product development. Mona is an active contributor in 3GPP standardisation and is Apple's lead 3GPP delegate in SA plenary, SA1 and SA6. In her previous 3GPP role, Mona chaired the 3GPP Service Requirements group, 3GPP SA1, between 2011-2015, and before that, she also served as SA1 Vice Chairman between 2009-2011. During her time in standardisation, Mona covered a diverse range of topics including edge computing, M2M, femtocells and public safety mission critical communications. Mona had also represented other organisations in 3GPP in the past, including Vodafone and NEC.

Before joining Apple, Mona was a technical specialist with the GSMA's IoT Programme, covering the deployment of 3GPP technologies NB-IoT and eMTC within IoT solutions, as well as IoT security. Prior to this role, Mona collaborated with mobile network operators and global enterprise customers to develop their IoT solutions. Mona had also worked on UTRAN product development projects, as well as initiatives on UTRAN and LTE testing.

Mona received a PhD in Optical Communications from Cranfield University, UK in 2001.
