IoT Cybersecurity Mark

IoT Cybersecurity Mark

Under the guidance of the Board of Science and Technology (BOST), Executive Yuan, and the Department of Cyber Security of the Executive Yuan, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the National Communications Committee collaborated to establish the IoT cybersecurity mark evaluation system to promote the development of both the security and testing service industry by focusing on industry standards and technical guidelines for key systems and equipment development and through leading the industry to invest in technology research and development. IoT devices that pass the cybersecurity label evaluation protect the safety of the people's property domestically and is promoted to high-quality goods that offer security protection internationally.

The security level of the mark is based on (1) the level of risk, and (2) the complexity of cybersecurity protection technology; divided into Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3, the mark is designed to provide IoT products and services with a cybersecurity protection mechanism like that of a fortress.

Products that have passed the evaluation and obtained the mark will not only become a security product that is preferentially procured by domestic public departments, but will also help manufacturers to export to international markets such as the United States and the European Union, making the IoT cybersecurity mark the best weapon for quality assurance in promoting the industry to seize the opportunity in the new wave of IoT.

Statement:

Obtaining the authorization of this mark only means that the test samples were evaluated by TAICS and that the test results conform with the security requirements of the IoT cybersecurity test specifications and evaluation specifications; the mark does not guarantee that the IoT device or service will not be attacked or hacked.
