TAICS and MTSFB Signed a Collaboration MOU

On October 1, Taiwan Association of Information and Communication Standards (TAICS) held the “2019 TAICS Global Standards Forum” at the NTUH International Convention Center, inviting representatives from various organizations to exchange insights into the standardization of IoT technologies.

TAICS Deputy Chairman Dr. Pei-zen Chang and Malaysia Technical Standards Forum Bhd (MTSFB) Chairman, Dato’ Ismail Osman signed a collaboration MOU, based on which Malaysia and Taiwan will conduct exchanges on 5G, IoT and smart city development and join efforts to promote IoT cybersecurity conformance evaluation, employee training and standard testing sites.

With the support and help from government and industries, TAICS has signed collaboration MOUs with international standards developing organizations such as ETSI, ARIB, TTC, TTA and TSDSI, and has conducted regular and constant collaboration on the development of standard 5G technologies. Today’s signing of a collaboration MOU with MTSFB can be regarded as the first milestone of Taiwan’s efforts to create regional connection with Southeast Asia. In the near future, Taiwan will continue to work with Malaysia to bring about substantial industry benefits on both sides.

The theme of TAICS Global Standards Forum this year is “The Roles of Standards in IoT Applications”. Representatives from standards developing organizations from US, Europe, Japan, South Korea and India shared their views on relevant IoT-related applications. TAICS hopes that this event will highlight the international trend of IoT and 5G applications, pushing Taiwanese companies to keep pace with international trends and grasp the latest standard applications and IoT business opportunities!
